The grant is for horticultural education involving children in the Manayunk neighborhood. Materials purchased with this grant will be seeds, seed starting supplies, organic fertilizer, watering cans, and other tools to support an 8 week horticultural class (developed by Texas A and M University). The grant’s goal is to provide hands on experience to reinforce what they learn in the classroom.
