The grant is for a food production project involving students who belong to the school’s garden club located in the Allegheny West neighborhood.  Materials purchased with the grant will be plants, mulch, bird houses and bird bath (to support the study of birds), composter totes and a lockable storage shed for garden equipment.  The goal of the grant is to provide the materials and tools for the Student Garden Club to plant, grow and harvest vegetables, herbs, and flowers in their six raised beds.
